WWE 2K24 Content Creator Ban Results in Backlash From the Community

WWE 2K24 is the latest instalment to the wrestling series by 2K Games. Recently, the game has suffered heavy backlash by the fans as they banned a popular WWE 2K24 content creator for playing the game. The fans were not happy about this situation and started their hashtag on X (formerly Twitter) to show support for the affected content creator. Learn more about what happened and why this content creator was banned below.

The content creator in question is WhatsTheStatus, more commonly known as Status. They took to X to reveal to his fans that 2K had removed all their uploads from their channel and not him. He had no idea what he was going to do next. A day later he was provided with a “permanent online ban” notification from the game the reason being that the devs were “alerted” that the account was associated with “inappropriate content” and was a violation of the End User License Agreement.

Due to this many of the fans started rallying for Status, making #FreeStatus more popular than #WWE2K24 on Twitter. At the same time, the WWEgames account had unfollowed Status on X and then soon refollowed him. Status’ latest update reveals that he modded the game, which is why he must be banned as that breaks the terms of service.

The mods he used were for community creation which added new cosmetic features to the superstars. However, the ban is not official at the moment as he hasn’t received any mail regarding that, so it could be overturned. Players will just have to wait for now as according to Washington Post’s Herb Scribner, 2K is working to address the ban as soon as possible.
