Bandai Namco Releases the Launch Trailer Right Before the Game Launch

Sand Land is an action RPG by Bandai Nampo scheduled to release tomorrow, April 26. The story is based on Dragon Ball creator late Akira Toriyama’s manga and follows the story of Prince Beelzebub and his friends as they figure out the mysteries of Sand Land in their search for the Legendary Spring. The devs have just provided players with a launch trailer, just a day before the game comes out, learn more below.

The new trailer starts with a human approaching Beelzebub and his friends to join his quest to find the Legendary Spring. We then see glimpses of gameplay, with melee combat and vehicular combat clips as the group fends off bandits and monsters. More people join their crew along the way as they understand the conspiracy run by the Forest Army. Towards the end of the trailer, we also see who Beelzebub might face with his new, powered-up form.

Ahead of the release, the players have been provided by Akira Toriyama’s comment on the game, before his untimely demise. In the comment, Toriyama speaks about how the game “greatly expands the worldview of the original manga” by adding new and exciting elements. Toriyama then spoke about how the “graphics have an excellent balance of the atmosphere of the manga and its drawing style”, along with a “genuine sense of design and attention to details”, as they have several vehicle designs, various customisations and background designs.

Toriyama also revealed how there is a completely different world along with Sand Land called Forest Land, which brings new characters that are not from the manga into the mix. Players receive a “more substantial story, and a vast map to adventure while playing as the Fiend Prince”. Toriyama also spoke about how he only plays “casual games” but still checks out the trending games his family plays. Toriyama’s concluding words that he “seriously” recommends the game “Sand Land”. This comment was from January 2024.
