Redfall DLC cancelled following closure of Arkane Austin

Players working through the Redfall achievements shouldn’t expect any further updates for the vampire shooter, as Microsoft has announced that Arkane Austin will close down alongside three other Bethesda studios, ending support for the game. As a result, the long-awaited Redfall Hero DLC has also been cancelled. Microsoft has confirmed that players who are entitled to the extra content will be reimbursed in the form of content.

As shared on the official Redfall X account, Arkane Austin is closing down and has ended development on any future content and updates for Redfall. As part of the game’s premium Bite Back Edition and the Bite Back Upgrade, players were also entitled to the Hero Pass, which would have given them immediate access to future Redfall content, including two new characters. With the DLC now being canceled, owners of the Bite Back versions will be eligible to receive credit to the “value of the upgrade.” There is a Redfall Credit page available now so you can sign up for the reimbursement, although it appears the team is still working on it.

While future updates are no more, Arkane Austin says the Redfall servers will remain active for the foreseeable, so you can still work through the game. We’d suggest you crack on with the achievements sooner rather than later, however, as all 66 Redfall achievements require you to be connected to the servers. It’s unlikely that Microsoft will take the game offline any time soon, but it’s better to err on the side of caution if you’re looking to complete it.
