May’s PlayStation Plus Essential games have been released

May’s first batch of PlayStation Plus games are now available to claim.

This month’s PlayStation Plus Essential games are EA Sports FC 24 (PS4, PS5), Ghostrunner 2 (PS5), Tunic (PS4, PS5) and Destiny 2: Lightfall (PS4, PS5).

PlayStation Plus members can add Ghostrunner 2, Tunic and Destiny 2: Lightfall to their game library until June 3, while EA Sports FC 24 will be available to claim until June 17.

Subscribers can also claim the PlayStation Plus Football Ultimate Team Starter Pack for EA Sports FC 24. It includes 11 untradeable players rated 82 or above, plus one of football’s all-time greats as an Icon Loan Player Pick for seven games.

Essential is the entry-level PlayStation Plus membership tier, which offers subscribers access to a few ‘free’ games every month.

The service’s more expensive Extra and Premium tiers offer subscribers access to the Game Catalogue, a library of up to 400 downloadable PS4 and PS5 games, as well as Ubisoft+ Classics, a curated selection of titles from the Assassin’s Creed publisher.

Sony is removing over 25 games from the Game Catalogue this month, including Horizon Zero Dawn Complete Edition and six Final Fantasy titles.
