Fallout 4 Next-Gen Update Now Live On Xbox, Here Are The Patch Notes

It’s time for the Fallout 4 next-gen update on Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S! The update dropped around an hour ago on both consoles, and it clocks in at around 22GB if you’re upgrading from the Xbox One version.

Thanks to Bethesda, we have more details on what exactly is included in Fallout 4’s next-gen update as well! We already knew about some of the Creation Club stuff, but it’s also now it’s been confirmed that on the Xbox Series X at least, Quality Mode targets 30FPS at 4K and Performance Mode targets 60FPS at 4K with dynamic resolution scaling.

Additionally, if you’re using a display with support for up to 120Hz, the Quality Mode will automatically target 40FPS, and if you’re connected to a 1440p display for whatever reason, it’ll just run at 1440p, 60FPS as standard.

Update: The Quality Mode appears to be running at 60FPS across both Series X and Series S right now (regardless of what Bethesda says about 30FPS here), and the same goes for the Performance Mode. According to an early report from Digital Foundry, Quality Mode might not be working properly at all on Xbox Series X|S at launch.
