Cyberpunk 2077 has now become one of the biggest games out there, which is all thanks to the care and attention it received from CD Projekt Red after its admittedly failed launch. The Phantom Liberty expansion and Update 2.0 were big contributors towards the popularity of the game too. Now, the conversation has moved towards the sequel and seeing the work they put into the original game has brought the anticipation to an all-time high. The devs recently spoke about the sequel for this game as well as the next title in the Witcher series, learn more about what they stated below.
Cyberpunk 2077 sequel in ‘fairly early stages’ of development
As spotted by Gamespot, CD Projekt Red was recently interviewed by Aftermath, where they ended up speaking about these topics. Talking about the Cyberpunk 2077 sequel, they stated that the game at the moment is in “fairly early stages” of development and only a small team is working on the game, which spans across Boston, Poland and Vancouver. The Boston base is a new location for CD Projekt Red’s North American operations, the Poland team consists of arts that are “well-trained” through work on Phantom Liberty and the engineering support resides in Vancouver.
Project Polaris (Upcoming Witcher game) update
Coming to the Witcher sequel, which is CD Projekt Red’s biggest series to date, the devs gave us some updates on Project Polaris too. It seems that the next Witcher title is being worked on “intensively”, that is all they gave away at this moment. Other than that, we have already been informed last month that out of the 627 developers in the entirety of CD Projekt Red, 403 of them are completely focused on developing Polaris. Hopefully, we get to see some kind of teaser or trailer for this title soon.
