If you’re tired of your average team shooters, Marvel Rivals is an upcoming 6v6 alternative featuring some of your favorite heroes engaging in the most ambitious crossover battles in the universe. Or something like that. Here are all the announced characters until now.
All Revealed Marvel Rivals Characters So Far
While we don’t have full information on the full roster of characters, we got a sneak peek of the first few batches of characters to be available. A Closed Alpha Test is scheduled to happen during May, so we’ll have a more concrete list of names. But these are the heroes confirmed to be debuting for now.
Iron Man
Role: DPS
Overview: With his special Stance mechanic, Iron Man can enhance his long-range abilities to an even higher level, while also giving him all the mobility money can buy in the process.
Hulk
Role: Tank
Overview: Switching between Bruce Banner and Hulk, his human form is a fragile pistol-wielding human while the raging giant has tons of supportive/crow control abilities.
Spider-Man
Role: DPS
Overview: Friendly neighbor Spider-Man specializes in fast close combat with a few CC tolls scattered in his kit to help him close his distance and secure his targets.
Peni Parker
Role: Tank
Overview: Peni can crawl through walls! And that’s not all, as similarly to Spider-Man, she also has enhanced mobility while dropping her special drones whenever she passes.
Loki
Role: Support
Overview: The god of trickery can transform into other characters, and that’s not only for show! He goes to the point where he can use his target’s ult. And if you’ve ever played a game with similar mechanics, you know how crazy this can get.
Rocket Racoon
Role: Support
Overview: Size doesn’t matter when you’re a cool raccoon that can ride on your allies’ backs to gain an advantage point. Or heal them, if that’s what you want.
Namor
Role: DPS
Overview: Namor has a control-like playstyle where he can hit his enemies from a good distance or have them in check with his turrets, an ability that has a special synergy with other characters.
Doctor Strange
Role: Tank
Overview: The Sorcerer Supreme can use portals to help reposition his allies or even give them some shields. Oh, and let’s not forget about that AoE stun coming straight from the Eye of Agamotto.
Black Panther
Role: DPS
Overview: Another fast-paced DPS with godlike speed and a huge damage ceiling, Black Panther has tons of quick gap-closing hits to take his prey and live another day.
Magik
Role: DPS
Overview: With AoE melee attacks, Magik has bruiser-like gameplay with her shields and stuns, while also having portals to give her even more mobility. What else can you ask for?
Luna Snow
Role: Support
Overview: Supporting her allies from behind with shields and movespeed buffs, Luna is a great asset to your teams and even features some healing in her kit, if she wasn’t busted enough.
Groot (Tank)
Role: Tank
Overview: Closing the distance between enemies and allies with his roots, Groot has a lot of defensive utility and synergies with other units in the roster, making it a great ally for every situation.
With exactly twelve characters to make 6v6 matches possible, more characters should be revealed after the first testing period is over, so let’s be patient for a while. The heroes won’t go anywhere for now.
